(58-63 days, Spring/Summer – 60-65 days, Fall/Winter, Heirloom) Often called Portuguese Cabbage and sometimes Kale, it is more closely related to Collards. Non-heading like typical cabbages. Leaves are more fleshy and succulent – including the mid rib and leaf stalk. Somewhat sweeter in taste, it has larger flat, round, grey/green leaves with white veins and midrib that extend out from a stout firm stalk. Similar tolerance to cold conditions as Kale and will also withstand heat better than other brassicas.
